When I got up this morning, I wasn't sure what I was going to do for #jamuary2023 today. It's the 24th day, by-the-way. As of last night, I hadn't planned on using the Wavestate at all. But, lacking a plan leads to rash decisions. And so ... Wavestate it is ...
And to be honest, I'm glad I changed my mind. When I first got the Wavestate, I referred to it as "Berlin School in a box," but it can be so much more (some of my initial thoughts about the Wavestate can be read in this post).
Today, I used only the Wavestate and the Boss RC-3 looper. Four presets (okay, Korg call them "performances") provide the underlying pads, the drum-and-bass, and the melody. Ableton Live was used only for recording and some master compression.
I'm getting convinced that I could really do some live solo work with a couple of synths (Wavestate, opsix, MicroFreak?) and a good looper -- or a good way to control the live looping functions in Ableton Live, and with the new studio inching closer to completion, you'll soon get to see that happen on my YouTube Channel (you will want to be subscribing to that, if you haven't already).
